Rosemary Riddette-Gregory - Quality in Falmouth Local Inspector

Local inspections are carried out by Rosemary Riddette-Gregory who has a wealth of experience in both the local tourism industry and the wider hotel and catering industry.

Rosemary has been a guesthouse proprietor in Falmouth since June 1985, adding a self-catering apartment in 2010. Rosemary was also concurrently employed as Marketing Executive with Glenrock Hotels Ltd for two years.

Rosemary is currently a Board Director of the very successful Falmouth Business Improvement District company. Falmouth BID have been involved in a number of innovative marketing schemes which have really put Falmouth on the map over the past few years.

Rosemary has been a member of the Falmouth and District Hotels Association since the early 1990s. This has involved carrying out inspections to FDHA criteria for several years including report writing, follow up visits, dispute resolution and dealing with the complaints procedure. Rosemary was also previously Chairman of the FDHA for 3 years, the first woman ever to hold that position.

As chairman, Rosemary has represented the FDHA on the Falmouth Town Forum, the Area Conservation Committee, the Parks and Gardens Committee, the Gyllyngdune Gardens Project Board and the West Cornwall Guide.

Going back a few years, Rosemary relocated from Falmouth to London in 1980, working in the computer industry and telecommunications. Her last appointment was as Office Manager to the Company Secretary of Cable and Wireless plc as line manager to ten or more staff. She was closely involved with public share flotations of the era, including press conferences and shareholder meetings in Central London. Prior to this, Rosemary was employed by Cornwall County Council as clerical assistant in the office of the Clerk and Chief Executive, Cornwall Tourist Board, Social Services and the Fire Brigade.
